Torpedo Four's Executive Officer L.L. Hamrick takes off a pitching flight deck of the Essex during a Pacific Storm.  February 22, 1945.

Sweating him in.  The Landing Signal Officer insists that the pilot make an immediate right turn to "get in the groove" for the landing.  The radar has been blocked out of the photo for security reasons.
