Históricos del Arzobispado de Durango, MexicoThe Preliminary Guide to the Contents of the Microfilm of the Archivos Históricos del Arzobispado de Durango (AHAD) was compiled by Maria Teresa Dorador de Reyes and Maria Eugenia Reyes Dorador in an effort to provide immediate access to the 731 rolls of film produced from the AHAD. Since 2001 the guide, which numbers more than 1,100 pages, has been expanded and edited by Dr. Rick Hendricks and is an indispensable tool for finding documents in the microfilm. Work continues on the guide in an effort to give the highest level of access possible. The general arrangement of the microfilm of the Archives is chronological by record group, however there are several instances where bound volumes contain documents spanning two centuries. Therefore, 19th century documents may be found in the earlier rolls of microfilm containing primarily 17th century documents.

Archivo General de Notarías de Durango
The guide to the 120 rolls of film from the Archivo General de Notarías de Durango (AGND) has been prepared to the volume level only. Before filming, the materials first were separated into two groups. The first group contains documents from the Colonial Period, through 1821. The second group contains records from 1822 to 1876, the beginning of the Porfiriato. The materials were filmed by location of the notary, starting with the earliest date; for example, the earliest document in the collection dates from 1603 from the villa of Nombre de Dios, thus all documents from Nombre de Dios up through 1821 were filmed first. The next earliest documents came from Cuéncame, so the Cuéncame documents through 1821 were filmed second.
The AGND guide may be viewed and searched online.
